Blogging, Blog, Blogging tips

I’ve written a lot of blogs about why businesses should blog. So many, in fact, that I’ve probably lost count. But instead of repeating myself, let’s switch things up. Let’s talk about what’s stopping you. Why isn’t your business blogging? What’s holding you back?

Is it the cost? The time? Maybe you’re not convinced that blogging does anything at all? Whatever the reason, you’re not alone. Plenty of businesses hesitate to start blogging, even though it can be one of the simplest ways to bring in more traffic, get more eyes on your brand, and increase engagement.

But before you throw in the towel completely, let’s take a look at these roadblocks and see if they’re really as big as they seem.

“Blogging Costs Money!”

Yes, it does. If you hire a marketing agency or a freelancer to write blogs for you, there’s an expense involved. But here’s the thing—blogging is probably the lowest-hanging fruit in your entire marketing strategy. It’s an investment, not an expense. Unlike ads that stop working the second you stop paying for them, blog content keeps working long after it’s published. A good blog can be shared, reshared, repurposed, and referenced again and again.

And let’s talk about numbers. Companies that blog get 97% more links to their websites. Businesses that blog also see 55% more visitors than businesses that don’t. That’s a lot of extra potential customers for something that, in the grand scheme of marketing, is relatively affordable.

“I Don’t Have Time to Write a Blog.”

Totally fair. Writing blogs takes time, and if you’re running a business, that’s probably the one thing you never have enough of. But guess what? You don’t have to do it yourself. That’s what people like me are here for.

Hiring a writer means you get all the benefits of blogging without having to stare at a blank page, wondering where to start. Instead, you can focus on your business while someone else handles the writing, formatting, and all those nitpicky details that turn an idea into a polished blog post.

“Does Blogging Even Work?”

Short answer: Yes. Longer answer: Absolutely yes.

Blogging isn’t just about writing words and hoping someone reads them. It’s about creating content that helps people find you. Every blog post is another opportunity for someone to stumble upon your website. The more content you have, the more ways people can find you. Search engines love fresh, useful content, and blogs help keep your site active and relevant.

It also gives you material for your social media channels, email newsletters, and even future campaigns. One blog can be shared and reshared, creating new touchpoints with your audience long after the initial publish date.

“I Have No Idea What to Write About.”

That’s what brainstorming is for! Your business has a lot to say—you just might not realize it yet. Think about your most frequently asked questions. And, so, what do people need to know before they buy from you? What mistakes do people make in your industry? What trends are popping up that your audience should know about?

Still stuck? A good writer (hey, that’s me!) can help you figure out topics that make sense for your business and your audience.

Time to Get Blogging

So, if you’ve been waiting for the perfect moment to start blogging, this is it. And if you are still having objections, it’s time to put those to rest. Don’t let the time, the cost, or the worry that it won’t work hold you back. The numbers don’t lie—blogging works. And the best part? You don’t have to do it alone. Let’s get your business blogging and start seeing the results.
