Woo-hoo! It’s announcement time, and I am so excited to officially share that my Jessica’s New Beginning book launch will take place on Tuesday, March 3, from 5:00–6:30 PM at Niche Books in Lakeville, Minnesota.
This book has been a long time coming (check out my cover reveal this past fall, and there’s no place I’d rather celebrate its release than at a local indie bookstore that feels like home.
Why Book Launches Matter
A book launch is about more than just selling copies, though those first-day sales truly matter. Day-one sales help authors gain early momentum, signal interest to retailers and publishers, support bookstore inventory decisions, and encourage early reviews and sharing. All of that helps a book reach more readers.
But just as important, a launch is a chance to celebrate. To gather with family, friends, and readers. To talk about the story, sign books, laugh, hug, and mark the moment when months (or years) of writing officially become a finished book out in the wild.
A Little About Jessica’s New Beginning
Jessica’s New Beginning is the second book in the Starting Over Trilogy, following Emily’s Next Chapter. While Emily’s story focused on finding love after loss, this book turns the spotlight on Jessica, who is Lucas’s ex-wife and a character many readers already know.
After her relationship with Lucas unravels, Jessica pours herself into raising her daughter, Lily, and building her career as a physical therapist. She’s proud of what she’s created, but there’s still an ache where love and desire once lived.
Then there’s Will. He’s a widowed teacher with two kids and a quiet sadness behind his smile. His wife passed away five years ago, and while he’s taken careful steps forward, opening his heart again feels risky. Their connection is immediate, powerful, and layered with complications.
As Jessica begins to imagine a future with Will, she’s faced with grief, her own devastating loss, and the emotional weight of a child struggling to hold onto memories of a mother who is gone. At its heart, this story explores love later in life, co-parenting, grief, and the beautifully messy work of starting over.
Why Niche Books is the Perfect Place for My Book Launch
This launch feels especially meaningful because of Ashley Christopherson, the owner of Niche Books. Ashley has been incredibly supportive throughout my writing journey and is a true champion of local authors.
My launch for Emily’s Next Chapter was also held at Niche Books, and returning there feels like coming full circle.
This bookstore is close to where I grew up in Apple Valley and near where I raised my kids in Farmington and Lakeville. Supporting an independent bookstore that’s tied to so many chapters of my life makes this celebration even more special.
