As a freelance blogger in the Twin Cities, one of the best parts of my job is the chance to collaborate with others to generate cool blog ideas. It’s not just about putting words on a page; it’s about sharing knowledge, learning new things, and creating great content that people actually want to read.
Let’s be real. Who doesn’t like getting a free backlink to boost their website’s authority? I know I do.
Recently, WomenTech Network asked me to collaborate on an article about the Women in Tech Collaborative Articles initiative. And I was quick to raise my hand and say YES. Sign me up!
When You Collaborate on Blogs, You Share Insights that Others Might Not Have Considered
The WomenTech Network encourages diversity, fairness, and inclusion in the tech world. It also helps women and other underrepresented folks get ahead through networking, mentorship, and learning opportunities. And you know how important networking is to me.
In this recent initiative, bloggers can work together on articles that help elevate the contributions of women in tech – their achievements, their struggles, and everything in between. It’s very similar to the collaborative efforts you can partake in on LinkedIn. In the last several months, I have been invited to offer my input on several topics in the marketing field. And where I feel I have something unique to say, I contribute. Over time, your contributions can help you earn a Community Top Voice badge. It’s a great way to add some authenticity to your profile.
Why am I talking about this? Well, it’s pretty much in line with one of my big goals for 2024: to meet five to ten new people. It might sound a bit out there, but hear me out. I’ve always found tech stuff super intimidating—so jumping into this arena is seriously out of my comfort zone.
I recently decided to start a vlog to complement my blog posts, and it has been a rollercoaster. My desk is a jungle of equipment now—a camera, microphone, Rodecaster, ring light, and cables everywhere. It’s overwhelming, to say the least. (Stay tuned; one of these days, I’ll actually go live—but for now, just keep a watch on and subscribe to my YouTube channel).
The Magic of Collaboration and Stepping Into (Or Out Of) Your Comfort Zone
Here’s where the power of collaboration comes in. Working with others, especially those who aren’t exactly like you, is incredibly rewarding. It opens up your world, broadens your skills, and changes how you see things. Through this initiative, I hope to meet a few female entrepreneurs who can make this the whole vlog thing seem a lot less scary.
So why should all of us copywriters give this collaborative article thing a shot? Here are a few reasons:
- Learn New Things: Every collaboration is a chance to expand your knowledge and skills.
- Meet Cool People: It’s an opportunity to connect with inspiring folks you might not have met otherwise.
- Boost Your Site: Collaborations often mean backlinks, gold for your website’s domain authority.
- Find New Passions: You might discover interests you never knew you had.
If you want to be part of the conversation, check out WomenTech Network. Contribute to the content. All you need to do is click on an article and then click on Start a Contribution on the right side of your screen.
Then, follow the prompts to make your first contribution. You’ll need to create a profile on the WomenTech website before you can do so, but doing so is relatively easy. Now, check out my first contribution below!
You can also share excellent content from women in tech on your social channels, spreading the word about their incredible work. Here are a few articles to get you started:

Are You Looking for a Collaborative Content Opportunity?
I’m always on the lookout for new collaboration opportunities. If you want to collaborate on a blog, I’m all ears. Let’s create something great together. Collaboration isn’t just about combining forces; it’s about building something bigger and better than we could. And in the process, we might just discover new sides to ourselves and make a few friends along the way.
